Obesity costs the U.S. roughly $190 billion annually. That’s direct and indirect costs. The direct costs of COVID, not including this price tag, is (at a minimum) about $150 billion in lost value of life from those who have died, as well as the massive lost productivity from a workforce from viral transmission.
