Watch: Orphaned bobcat kittens get checkup at Lake Metroparks facility

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (WJW)– Two bobcat kittens at the Lake Metroparks’ Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center recently got a checkup.

The one kitten was found by a couple in the middle of the road in Harrison County. They took the little girl to a veterinarian, where they found out it was not a house cat. The other kitten is from Carroll County.

FirstEnergy shutoffs can resume starting Sept. 15

AKRON, Ohio (WJW)– While utility shutoffs in Ohio were suspended during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, FirstEnergy can resume those operations as soon as Sept. 15.

The power company, which includes Ohio Edison, the Illuminating Company and Toledo Edison, is urging residents to take advantage of assistance programs and payment plans.

Hudson teacher arraigned on sexual battery charges connected to former student

HUDSON, Ohio (WJW) – Longtime teacher with the Hudson City School District, Heidi Hallstein, was arraigned on sexual battery charges in Ravenna Municipal Court Friday.

Hallstein, 56, was also formerly Heidi Gauntner.
